Where have you been? Is there nothing going on in Highlands or are you just waiting till the foreigners go home and the rug rats go back to school?

The only thing I know of happening is people will be going home and the local trolls will be returning to school! It’s the “Most wonderful Time of the year!”

Although…P.S. you missed the big “Going Out of Business” sale down at the hardware store – although it’s hard to imagine they had anything in there considering they’d be just running down the stock for months! I sure hope they paid the sales tax this time around!

OKay….well…have you covered why there is STILL atleast one “No Parking” sign still up from Clam Fest and why there are still “painted” numbers along Bay Ave. marked off for the stalls?

If the BID wants to have a party, shouldn’t they be responsible for cleaning up for themselves? Especially like a month later?

Or how about the annual “Bike New York” event which takes place in NEW JERSEY! You know the one where they use every street in town except the one that has a “designated bike lane?” You know, the one that advertises “FREE PARKING” which means feel free to take up all of the spaces in front of everybody’s house because the residents don’t have any say in the matter?

The telephone number listed on the Solution Center page on this blog is my personal cell phone number. Can you please remove it and we can advise when the center gets a phone?
    Thanks,

So the solution center doesn’t have a phone number? Let me make a suggestion, go here: http://www.google.com/voice set up a number, it will ring on your computer and it can work through your speakers/microphone, OR you can forward it to any numbers you choose, cell, land line etc. Also, its free.

Its a shame we cant capitalize on Sandy Hook being so close to turn us into a baby Pt Pleasant. Now would be the time to do so.

Think about it. How great is Clam Fest? It pumps people into our town from all over. Why couldnt we build a small board walk? Now would be the time to do so…

Why hasnt anyone thought of this before. The potential is there to make us more tourist friendly. If we were ever gonna do it. Do It Now.

    Think On it…

Lets start a blog post about this. I cant see anyone apposed to it

The list of available items is constantly changing as new things arrive and others get placed. I would like to post the list of items once a week and provide my contact info. Please let me the best way to do this.

Just curious if you knew of any electrical problems in the highlands. I live on Bay ave and my inside lights as well as the street lights seemed to be flickering last night. Perhaps losing power. They never went off but seemed to be loosing power and slightly dimming for quite awhile last night. Thanks?

I haven’t heard of anything. but I had something happen similar a few years back. I called an electrician and he told me “you got no neutral, call the electric company” The wire between the pole and the house was damaged, you could see it. Not enough to have the electric completely go out, but enough were I had flickering in the back of the house and no electric at all in the front.

I had the same think happen.  The electric company re-ran the wire from pole to house.  Apparently this happens a lot because the salt air corrodes .

Anyone know if the town is doing any walks, fundraisers, etc., for Pinklands in May? Or, do you know who do we contact in town for any information. Didn’t see anything on the website, of course. Thanks,

Chris Christie told the state of New Jersey to fly the flags at half mast for Melvin Santiago, the cop that was shot in Jersey City on July 13, 2014. Highlands was the only town who failed to do so and this is why I hate this embarrassing town. Also they shine no lights on the American flags at night. You should be ashamed!
