CBS News does story about Highlands Residents loosing Insurance due to Cost

If you receive a $34k flood bill after you lift, do you pay it until the new FEMA maps are adopted in 2016 or just forgo insurance and hope for the best.

CBS interviewed Sea Drift Resident and Borough Engineer Dale Lubner.

  1. That’s the way it’s suppose to work …. that’s good news Danielle. Do you know what zone you were in based on the 2009 maps vs. what the new adopted maps are going to say?

  2. Unfortunately to get the RREM grant you sign paperwork that you MUST have flood insurance on your property, you actually need to put in your deed so that a buyer is aware they will need to carry flood insurance also, Talk about a rock and hard place!
