Bahrs Participating in Shore Chef Crab Cake Cook-Off

crab cakeThis Saturday and Sunday, between 12 – 5, Highlands restaurant Bahrs Landing is competing for the best crab cake award and the coveted People’s Choice Award in the Crab Cake Cook-Off at Monmouth Park.

Other contestants include: Bacon On Wheels, Chimney Cake Factory, Chip Stix, Coney Waffle, Enzo’s, Four Boys Concessions, Harvest Specialty, Ike’s Famous Crabcakes, Jersey Shore BBQ, Kona Ice, Station 1 Seafood, Two Sons Savannah Style Seafood, WD Cakes & Steaks, Red Hook Lobster, and Waffle de Lys.

If the competition was just done in Highlands, who has the best crab cakes?


    • Bahrs, of Highlands, and Red Hook Lobster Pound, which started in Brooklyn, won best crab cake and best of the rest honors at the two-day fest.

      Ike’s Famous Crabcakes won the People’s Choice award for best crab cakes.

      Among amateur chefs, Dan Reilly of River Edge won for his lump crab and claw crab cake, and finishing a close second was Linda Courtney of West Long Branch, whose crab cake featured capers, Dijon, lemon juice, parsley and scallions.
