Seems to be a goo alternative to the robot call. We will probably need the volunteer assistance of some residents who are comfortable with the tools of social media. What about those residents though who do not use cell phones (or computers)? Would still need a game plan to inform them as well.

It would be nice to have both the calls and the alerts, residents can sign up for both. Currently the calls only go to my home number, which we don’t use at all so we miss them, therefor they are useless to me. I have tried to sign up for my cell but that doesn’t seem to be an option.

That’s odd. Maybe something changed. I was able to register both home and cell numbers on the town web site.

does one not work? I have my cell registered and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.. I can’t figure out why, I was told once because its not a 732 area code it won’t work, but it does sometimes so that can’t be the reason.

It’s been a while since I received a call, but I’m pretty sure every call in the past has gone to both and my cell is not a 732 number, either.

Thanks! I’ll go sign up for Sea Bright’s alerts. It’s at least *something.* I wonder if they warned their residents that day in May when Rt 36 was closed.
