And the best film scene filmed with a Highlands reference is….

Highlands played a role in several motion pictures..  The nominees are:

The Gibson Goddess (1909)

Plot: A pack of admirers won’t leave a beautiful woman alone at a seaside resort, so she devises a plan. She appears in a leg-revealing swimsuit, but the stockings have been stuffed with cotton to make her limbs appear misshapen. All but one of the men is driven off, and regret it when she removes the misleading leggings. (I think that may be Huddy Park)

I have to admit to a soft spot in my heart for Ollie and that whole wacky family in Jersey Girl.

This probably also indicates a soft spot in my head.

I haven’t been here for any filming. Is it good for our town’s economy or is it a drain on our resources?

I saw a D.W. Griffith film shot in Highlands a few years back. It was neat to see what the shore looked like 100 years ago.

It was called The Gibson Goddess. Someone had written a whole thing on YouTube about it being filmed in Highlands. It’s been taken down since but it was a pretty funny film.

Is this it (or at least the film itself, if not the explanation)?

The closing song is something about “down at the bungalow.”
