Voter Registration Deadline Ends Oct 15

voteAnyone who wants to vote in the Nov. 5 Highlands election, the registration must be completed by Oct. 15, 2013

How Highlands Residents can  register:

1) at the Monmouth County Voter Registration Office, 300 Halls Mills Rd., Freehold Township, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

2) at your Municipal Clerk’s office, (trailer between Shore & 2nd)

3) Mail registration you can download the New Jersey voter registration application

Why you would want to vote:
To decide whether Highlands is going to stay a Partisan Government (keeping both Republican/Democrat parties), or a Non-partisan Government where there will be no party lines at the town level and opens up the door for more candidates to run on the ballot. HighlandsUnited sponsored this initiative.

Vote on a new Mayor. Right now your choices are Frank Nolan (R), Becky Kane (D) & Doug Card (Write In).


  1. And, even if you are displaced because of the storm you can still vote by mail. Get the application fill it out, mail it in, and make sure your voice is heard. Even if you don’t think it will do any good, it’s better than doing nothing at all.


  2. Just a heads up– when I changed my mailing address after Sandy because we lost the post office, somehow that got me re-registered as a Middletown resident by accident. I had to send in a written request to get it fixed. So you may want to call to double check you’re down as registered in Highlands if you did divert your mail like I did.
