Things to do in Highlands: Kitesurfing

Ever notice all those bright colored kite things flying across the water and wonder what it was? Kitesurfing is actually a water sport that combines aspects of wakeboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding, and gymnastics into one extreme sport.  (kind of sounds like you may have to be able to walk and chew gum, I might have to sit this out)Image

There are actually lessons available on Sandy Hook for Kitesurfing (aka Kiteboarding).. every weekend whenever the wind is above 12knts and during the week from 6pm till dark.

LG Kiteboarding offers high quality lessons at a reasonable prices.  They offer 4 hours of personal instruction for $300.

They even supply all the necessary equipment: Kites, Boards, Harness, Helmet, Bar/Lines, etc.

You can email Larry @ Legrill83@yahoo.com to schedule a lesson

I think we need to talk Larry into opening a storefront in Highlands. I mean if his inventory gets wet in another storm no big one right?

Maybe he could open next to Krankys?

Now this is something I would think about doing!!! Plus some friends would be willing to “test the waters” on this and what a great gift idea …. if he only had a store front where I could go down and do a gift certificate I’d be all “on board”.
