Waterwitch Ave Closed Monday because of Gov Christie Visit

Correction:

The United Arab Emirates on Monday will make a sizable donation to the charity founded by Gov. Chris Christie’s wife to help public schools damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Why does that impact traffic in Highlands Monday??

The governor and First Lady Mary Pat Christie will join Yousef Al Otaiba, United Arab Emirates Ambassador to the United States, for a morning announcement at Highlands New Jersey Elementary School.  The press conference will take place Monday between 9 – 11 AM.

The donation will go toward repairing and enhancing technology infrastructure at nine districts impacted by Sandy, (not just Highlands)

  1. With the amount of times Cristie has been to Highlands since the storm , you would figure we would be rolling in grant money to fix up the town and all. Id personally like to know how much money the town has received to date in Sandy relief!!!

  2. I heard from a very reliable source that Highlands only applied for a specific grant from FEMA 3 weeks ago. This is for grant money to demo or remove large debris from homes. That should tell us something.

  3. So….it looks to me like this money for computer technology will enable the town to move all borough agencies up there? The school doesn’t have many students anyway. Sound likely???
