    • Hoping for the next month or so. Have floors (getting finished up today) and a good percentage of walls, albeit unpainted. A bathroom, finally, or at least most of one (no thanks to a stupid and sloppy contractor). Next up, putting the kitchen back together, then going after the walls.

Had I known we’d be doing 90% of this ourselves, it would have been a lot sooner. I was hoping to hand the whole mess off to a contractor, but ended up trying (and failing) to GC the job myself.

  1. While we never left during the storm and lived through all the re-construction in Nov & Dec, it seems bizarre now that we need to move out for a few months for the almighty lift… Well, we’ll see what the lifter dude says tomorrow. I might be asking you guys for rental options in town that you may know of…

  2. Hey Guys,

Just wanted to say after having issues with contractor I initially hired ….now have the best contractor…. did some of my neighbors homes and was impressed and since they have begun working on my home really impressed! Just hard working guys not looking to make a killing just a living. If anyone is interested I would be happy to pass info along even off line if you want to send me e-mail address. Not related or pushing just sharing. Had bad initial experience waited too long before got rid of which is one of reasons so long to get home. So refreshing to have trustworthy, honest people working on home now.

  3. Did you hire an architect too? In any event, please email me the contact info for the contractor (april016@comcast.net) and I will ask if they know of a good architect. Thanks.
