HIGHLANDS FIRST AID SQUAD NEEDS YOUR HELP WITH SUPPLIES

Captain Ray Vargas of the Highlands First Aid Squad is looking for some help. Sandy took all of their supplies including everything from bandages to blood pressure cuff kits along with other Basic Life Support (BLS) supplies. They lost their oxygen cascade system and their containment box as well. Highlands First Aid Squad has also had an issue with manpower for calls and other assignments since many residents were displaced and are also working extra jobs to make extra money to cover costs associated with Sandy. The squad building is only being used to house their two rigs which were moved to the emergency operations center prior to Sandy’s arrival. As of right now (Jan 31 2013) they have no heat, no running water and only have small spotlights to light up the building which are being run off of temporary power and the temporary power is also used to charge their rigs. They are waiting on FEMA but they need “some kind of normal” they are unable to hold meetings since their building does not have any electricity, heat or water. please send to the old borough hall address and the post office will deliver it to the trailers.
