Highlands Residents eligible for NJ Clean Energy Rebates

Who in Highlands doesn’t have to replace appliances? – Ok for you 3 people, you don’t have to read the rest of this post..

For Everybody else, New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program recently announced enhanced incentives for residents recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Qualifying equipment purchased on or after October 29, 2012 through June 30, 2013 is eligible.

Visit each program webpage to complete an application form.  Please be sure that a Hurricane Sandy Certification Form is included with your application.

Applicable Equipment

Furnaces, Boilers, Heat Pumps, Gas Water Heaters  Mini-split Units    Central Air Conditioners ($500) and Clothes Washers ($50)

  • In addition to existing rebates of $300-$400, an additional $200 will be applied.  Incentives are supposed to also available from your NJG  (the 2013 forms are not available yet, BUT it states you can just use the 2012 form, so don’t worry it says it expired Dec 31.)

(Editors Recommendation:  Navien Gas Combo Boiler (For both Furnace & water heater) looks like a suit case, hangs on the wall, sits 4 ft off the ground, water on demand and energy efficient.)

ALSO, this is good for Food Service Equipment (And you know Highlands has restaurants that will need stuff.)
Eligible equipment includes:

  • Dishwashers
  • Fryers
  • Griddles
  • Hot Food Holding Cabinets
  • Ice Machines
  • Ovens
  • Refrigerators & Freezers
  • Steam Cookers

Specific efficiency requirements and incentive levels are detailed on the Food Service Equipment application (e-form or regular form version).
