Highlands Update: Garbage & Gift Cards

The Borough asks that any bulky items be put on the curb, NOT in the street. (People are tired of taking nails out of their tires.)

The last pickup for storm related material will be Thursday, December 27th.  After our final clean-up you will have to obtain the services of a container company.  Summonses will be issued for any illegal dumping of material after December 27th.

targetOn Saturday December 22nd the Better Education Institute will be giving residents that sustained damages during Hurricane Sandy 1 Target gift card per household valued at $100. They will be at the Firehouse 17-1 Shore Dr from 9am-1pm.

Each household MUST show proper proof of address such as drivers license, lease or bank statement as well as FEMA and/or insurance documentation in order to receive gift card.

Hi–I walked up the bicycle overpass at the foot of the bridge and photographed from there! Lucky! It is so frustrating not to be able to drive or walk on Sandy Hook. Wish they would open the main street at least! I can see trucks, bulldozers, and heavy equipment operating day and night..(even New Year’s Day)!
