What a nice day for Guinness & Oysterfest in Redbank

The 3rd annual Guinness & Oysterfest is today in Redbankbank. The event is being held in the White Street parking lot from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 23 with a rain date of Sept. 30. Admission is $5 for those over 13. Proceeds from the event benefit the Booker Cancer Center and Riverview Medical Center, the Cancer Institute of NJ, and RiverCenter.

It has live music, more seafood options and expected crowds of as many as 15,000 people.

And then there are the oysters. (Unlike the Asbury Oysterfest where it was blatantly missing) While oysters and Guinness have been featured at the event, the seafood component of the Oyster Festival has been lacking a bit over the first two years. Festival organizer have reached out to local restaurants to encourage them to create more oyster and seafood dishes this time around.

Okay…so are you saying they had no oysters at bthe Guiness Oysterfest in Asbury Park? That’s pretty funny if that’s true….it would be like having a Clam Fest in Highlands where the clams didn’t come from Highlands!

And If you’re looking for something fun to do over the next few weekends…check out the Jersey Shore Ghost Tours every Friday in Red Bank and every Saturday in Keyport through Halloween.
