What to do Sept 15th around Highlands


34th Annual Outdoor Flea Market

The Atlantic Highlands Historical Society will hold its 34th annual Outdoor Flea Market at the Atlantic Highlands Marina on Saturday September 15th from 10AM to 4PM. This is the rain date from Sept 8th.

A large variety of antiques and collectibles, crafts, new and as always the pre-used and hardly used variety of just about anything. There are 150 spaces which are always filled. Spaces are $25 each.

Kids Day @ Sandy Hook

For kids ages 4 to 8 and their parents. Gather at 1:30 p.m. at Building 18(Officers’ Quarters) for a brief description of Sandy Hook natural history and seining for fish. Next travel to the bay side for an hour of seining and fish identification. Kids are invited to help pull the net. Return to Bldg. 18 for “Fishy Fun” where the kids learn the ancient art of Japanese fish painting (using rubber fish and non-toxic paint). Each child goes home with their own personal fish print. Cost: $5 per Child

Double Exposure: The Twin Lights Through the Artist’s Eye

September 16, 2012  – Twin Light Light House 11 – 4pm

Free Event. An exhibition of paintings, drawings, sculptures & photography inspired by the Twin Lights.  This event will also include works in progress and discussions with local artists.
