Highlands Homes Prices on the Rise

13 Recreation PlMost of NJ has been slow to rebound from the housing fiasco. Highlands has been one of the exceptions.. Highlands median prices rose from $200,000 to $252,000 from April 2011 to April 2012.

The Asbury Park Press did an analysis of sales data for 79 Ocean and Monmouth communities and found an increase of median home sale prices in 13 communities.  One of which was Highlands.

The comparisons are based on an analysis of MCAR statistics between the year ending April 1, 2011, and the year ending April 1, 2012. Data were culled from sales reports submitted by the association’s Realtor members. The figures do not include homes sold by owners, nor do they include homes sold by agents who are not Realtors.

  1. The figures do not include homes sold by owners, so they’re not including when somebody sells their house to their cousin! I have to imagine that’s the vast majority of real estate deals in town since nobody ever leaves!
