Things to do in Highlands in 2011

Highlands Parade

March: 9th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Bay Avenue Saturday, March 19th 2:00 pm – This is the best & Longest Parade of the year – You can show up 5 minutes before and still get a great view.

May: 11th Annual Seaport Craft Show Huddy Park Sunday, May 29th 10am – 5pm Go get a coffee from the coffee shop and meander around, you might find something cool.

June – October:  Farmer’s Market Huddy Park Every Saturday
9am July through October.  Good deals on local produce, not overly crowded – tip: Walk there if possible, parking can get tricky.

August: 17th Annual Clam Festival Huddy Park August 4th – August 7th Thursday 6-11pm Friday 6-11pm Saturday Noon-11pm Sunday Noon-8pm Great food and social event.  Sunday could conflict with the Haskell (Monmouth Park – Big NJ Horse Race)

October: 11th Annual Oktoberfest Veterans Park Saturday, October, 1st  2-10pm
Rain date October 2nd I would recommend to go early to sample the food, they seem to run out a lot. Found out when I tried to drop in for the fireworks and grab a potato pancake.

FYI – Normally ChiliFest takes place the same weekend in Atlantic Highlands. You know you’re a local if you’ve heard of this or been invited to this.

Highlands Christmas Tree

December: Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Huddy Park Friday, December 2nd 6:00 pm  Rain date Sat. Dec. 3rd

Great thing for the kids. They can sit on Santa’s lap and sip some hot chocolate.
